The United Nations SRC Society of Writers

Our mandate: We seek to promote the written word as a powerful and artistic tool in communication. The Society publishes an international literary magazine, Reflections which is available at the United Nations Bookstore at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and sponsors numerous literary events throughout the year.

The membership of the UNSRC Society of Writers is comprised of writers, poets, journalists from within the international community, including serving and retired United Nations staff members and their relatives as well as representatives of Non-Governmental Organizations and the diplomatic community.

We bring special programmes to the international community to stimulate thought and to promote dialogue. Many of our programmes have been centered around the celebration of individual artistic endeavours. At these special programmes we honour the work of some of the world's greatest and most inspiring writers by giving to them the UNSRC Society of Writers Award of Excellence.
